Opening Cinematic

Some of you know that Sins of a Solar Empire has a narrated opening cinematic that sort of introduces the player to SOaSE. I was thinking, maybe the mod could have something like that, that explains how the Forum Wars galaxy was created.

writer or voice acting contest

first the writing contest

then when a winner is chosen a voice acting contest for the narrator

Good idea? yes, Doable? yes but hard, will I authorise it? no, at least not, a cinematic scrolling text however...(idea stolen from Bryon who undoubtedly stole it from someone else, contiue pattern)

why not it could be something very simple

seriously a video needs to be done

or people are going to loose interest

Yeah, I agree with Ralok here: repeating the Star Wars scrolling text is a bit droll. We need a fresh idea.

And, why not people write for themselves? Ignore the contest and write what they wish?

oh god i got an idea that will not require to much work

takeing bits and peices from the universe that we know

vader walking down a hall put that in a quantam mirror from stargate

maybe edit something that looks like the chief with a stargate

battlestar galactica laucnhing fighters

something low quality

with some words maybe

nothing requiring anything fancy or expensive just clips from shows and movies

i was thinking more like just an opening video, similar to the trailer for Createstarwars in style, that is skippable so you dont get bored watching it all the time.

I like the skippable part, some of those opening scenes can get very boring.

it being skipable is a given fact

its fun to watch a cinematic like once

but it becomes redundant

I say again, why not, if there are seperate story-lines, the playable people make their own scripts for videos?
