By Kyle
The League of Extraordinary Young Gentlemen (And One Girl)
The war between humans and Covenant forces rages. To aid the human cause, a small organization has been formed. 7 young men have banded together to answer the threat of total annihilation.

“Artie, jetpack, now!” Kyle screamed, and Artie grabbed his hand as Kyle dropped a pumpkin bomb into the swarming horde of aliens. The bomb exploded behind them. “Nice work, Artie.” “Always glad to help.” Elsewhere, Tom sent limbs flying with his lightsaber. As he was fighting, an alien snuck up behind him, poised to attack, and exploded. “Watch your back, Tom.” John said. “That’s what I have you for!” Tom replied jokingly, and continued to fight. John continued spraying the advancing aliens with gunfire. Alex kept his pressure on the aliens. One jumped onto his back, and, coolly, he cracked its neck. Another charged Robin, and then Robin grabbed its wrist, and then slammed the alien into another alien. An alien ran towards Alex, he dodged it, grabbed its wrist, the punched the alien’s elbow, breaking the arm off. The team regrouped, and eventually killed off the attackers. “Is it just me or is the Covenant getting dumber and dumber?” Tom said. They looked at him, but no one could think of anything to say. Suddenly, blaster fire rained all around them. They ran for cover. There were at least 300 aliens shooting at them from on top of the hill. Out of nowhere, there were explosions on the hill. The blaster fire stopped, and the team looked up to see a gunship bombarding the Covenant forces. They fired back, but hardly scratched the ship. The gunship wiped out the aliens, then came down to pick up the team. Behind them, a wounded alien grabbed its sword and stood up. He was ready to attack, and the gunship smashed it down. Its leg twitched as the team boarded the ship. Kyle and Artie were already on board. “Thanks for the lift, Tyler!” Alex said excitedly. “You got it, man.” He replied. Tyler flew them back to headquarters.

“These attacks are getting more routine. Pretty soon that area will be overrun.” Robin said. “Nonsense. Silly aliens can’t take the city while we’re here.” Tom responded. “We can’t hold it forever. I think it would be best to evac the city.” John said. “Maybe. We need General Crawford here. His troops could fend the Covenant forces off.” Kyle replied. “Yeah, General Crawford’s legendary. He could drive them back. We should contact him.” Artie suggested.

“I’ve got my hands full at the moment, but I will certainly consider reinforcing your position.” “Thank you, General.” Alex replied. “Well, as you probably know, that city is valuable. We need to keep it in our possession. If the Covenant controls it, they will have an access route to both of our bases in the area. You know what, as soon as I’ve finished my ops here, I will head your way immediately.” “We’re honored, General. We are most gracious for your speed.” Responded John. The transmission faded.

Afterwards, the team was eating when Artie heard a voice from the comms room. He went to go check it out. “Can you hear me? Please respond immediately!” cried a voice. Artie quickly replied “yes, I can hear you!” He called in the rest of the team. “I need help!” the voice was screaming. It was a girl’s voice. “Calm down.” Kyle said. Where are you?” “I’m the General’s assistant. Our ship has been shot down and the aliens have surrounded us. They’ll probably take us prisoner, so I’m activating my homing beacon.” “We’re on our way.” Announced Tyler.

As they were on their way to the crash site, the girl activated her beacon. Tyler changed course immediately. “They’re keeping her in that stronghold to the South.” He said. “Oh, great.” John responded. “Even though that thing isn’t too well defended, that place is huge.” “Tyler, could you take us back behind it? We want to keep this quiet.” Alex asked.

Tyler took the long way around to avoid detection. He was forced to weave through a narrow canyon. Shortly after, he dropped the team off. “The base is 148 meters northeast. They can’t detect the gunship because of the modifications I’ve made…” he bragged, “but… you can’t fool the naked eye. Good luck.”
After a quick walk, the team could see the base. Tom ordered them all to crouch. John attached the sniper pack to his rifle, as did Artie. Kyle and Tom took out their binoculars. “You see anything?” asked Alex. “Not a one.” Replied Kyle. “OK, John and Artie. Stay here and keep us covered. One of you might want to move to another position. Kyle, Robin, and Alex, you guys are with me. We’re going inside there.” The four made their way to the nearest entrance. The door required an access code. “Tyler, can you get us through this door?” “On it, Kyle. Just a few moments.” They waited, and the door clicked. A blue substance splattered all over it. The four quickly turned around to see a dead alien on the ground. “Who’s willing to guess he reported you guys?” asked John over his communicator. Kyle answered, “I guess we’ll find out.” Kyle readied to open the door. Tom took out his lightsaber, Robin extended his staff and Alex pulled out a pistol. Kyle opened the door. No one was there. The team entered slowly. It was quiet. They entered a dark room. There was a faint squishing sound. “What’s that noise?” asked Alex. “No id-“Kyle bumped into something. “Tyler, can you turn on the lights?” Robin asked. The lights came to life, and Kyle looked up to see an alien growling at him. He took a step back, and realized that there were at least 40 Covenant soldiers surrounding them. “Alex, you and me go left. Go!” Tom activated his lightsaber and began slicing through the aliens. Kyle threw a pumpkin bomb in the middle of 5 of them, taking them all out. Alex jumped onto one of their backs and forced a grenade into one of their mouths. It ran, trying to spit it out, and exploded in a group of aliens. “Alex, that was amazing!” Kyle said excitedly. Robin was knocking aliens left and right, and killed one about to take Kyle’s head off. Tom took out the last 3 aliens with a single strike.

They continued down to a hallway. There was a heavy door with a console nearby. “I’ll handle this.” Alex began hacking the console, and in a few moments later, the door opened. “About time.” A voice inside said. The four entered the room. There were 3 dead aliens, one had its throat slit, one was missing an arm, and the other had apparently been stabbed in the torso. “What? Never seen a dead alien before?” the girl said. She was wearing a suit that reminded Kyle of a TIE flight suit. And, she was beautiful. She shook her head to show off her silky brown hair. Tom grabbed her hand. “Hello, I’m Thomas, the leader of these fine boys. You can call me Tom.” He smiled, and bent down to kiss her hand. She snatched her hand from his grip. “Eliza. Wait, it’s you guys?” “We don’t have time to stick around” Robin said. They began walking out of the building. “Look, I could have gotten outta here just fine by myself.” “Doubt it.” Alex replied, and pointed to the dozens of dead aliens. “What do you have against us, anyway?” asked Kyle. “It’s complicated.” She said. Everyone stopped and gave her a puzzled look. “Have you heard of us before?” asked Robin. “Yes.” She replied. “Oh, that’s right. We stopped a Covenant capital ship from destroying half a planet, saved an Admiral, took down two Covenant bases and have protected that field near the city for weeks now. Yeah, people must not really like us.” Tom said. She rolled her eyes and didn’t say anything. “I thought so.” Tom said. “Anyway, where’s the General?” asked Alex. “They took him aboard one of their capital ships. Apparently I wasn’t good enough to come with him.” Robin chuckled, and Eliza gave him a stern look. He stopped. Tyler picked up the team and took them back to their base.

League of Extraordinary Young Gentlemen Empty
PostSubject: Re: League of Extraordinary Young Gentlemen   League of Extraordinary Young Gentlemen Icon_minitimeMon Dec 01, 2008 12:40 pm

“General Crawford’s aboard the Iron Fist now. When we crashed, one of the passengers and the pilot died. Me, the general, and a trooper were taken captive. They split us up, and took the General and the trooper aboard their ship. Then they sent me to their outpost to rot.” “Great, 7 guys and 1 girl against a Covenant capital ship.” John complained. “Don’t get your panties in a bunch just yet. I think I know how to rescue him.” She paused. “Yes?” demanded Artie. “First off, we need to commandeer a supply ship. We can use it to dock with the Iron Fist. Obviously we can’t just waltz in there with no clearance, so we will also need to get the access code. If the Covenant forces hear there’s been break-ins, it’ll ruin our chances, so we will also take out their communications outpost.” “Whoa, whoa, whoa” Alex interrupted. We don’t have time for all that. The ship will have left the system by then.” “Yep,” Eliza replied, “which is why we’re splitting up. John, Tom, and Robin: you’ll steal the supply ship at the hangar. Alex and Artie: it’s up to you to get the codes. Me and Kyle will take out the comm. Station.” Everybody began yelling. “Who put you in charge!” Tom demanded. “Hey, Kyle goes with me when we split up!” Artie was shouting. John yelled “these groups are too small for this to work!” “All right! Quiet!” she yelled. “Look, this is the only way to save General Crawford. I know it’s risky, but this is the just the only way. If we don’t do this, the only other way to save him is to board the ship in a large-scale assault, and we don’t have any ISDs to spare. If we do that, that will open up the area to Covenant forces. So… we do this… or you can go back to protecting your little field.” No one said anything.

“All right, Artie, you can carry Alex with your jetpack.” Artie saluted, grabbed Alex, and took off. “Robin, Tom, and John: Tyler will take you to the hangar. There is a contact that will join up with you there, code-named “Stinger.” Tyler drove up next to them in his Juggernaut. The 3 boarded, and Tyler drove off. “Kyle, you and me will use those speeder bikes.” Kyle and Eliza hopped on their speeders, and headed for the comm station.
After several minutes, the comm station came into view. Kyle and Eliza dismounted. An alien started shouting at them, and Kyle casually threw him a pumpkin bomb. “I hate aliens with attitudes.” “Good work,” Eliza said. “I’m sure some of them heard th-“ a door opened, and 4 aliens came charging out of it. Eliza pulled out her sword and killed one; Kyle extended his wrist blades and killed another. Eliza stabbed the third, and the last one ran. “No!” she shouted. “If he raises the alarm, this whole thing will be shot!” Kyle raised his arm and fired his wrist launcher. The toxic dart hit the alien in the back; he fell, squirmed for a moment, and then was still. Eliza smiled at him. The two walked up a few flights of stairs. “This is Alex. We’ve got the codes. We’re on our way to help Tom.” Kyle replied “OK, Alex. Just make sure they don’t raise any alarms.” “Copy. Alex out.”

Kyle and Eliza made it to the top floor of the structure. There was a heavy locked door. Kyle groaned. “I’m getting tired of this.” “Well, I can have Ty-““I’ve got this one” Kyle replied. He took out a pumpkin bomb, pressed the top button, and stuck it to the door. “Magnetic. Run.” The bomb exploded and Kyle readied his pistol. An alien came out screaming and on fire. He let it go, and it fell down the stairs and was quiet. Kyle threw another pumpkin bomb into the control room. Eliza heard the satellite dish stop spinning. “This is Kyle. Comms are down.”

Kyle and Eliza made their way down to the stairs. “You’re pretty good, Kyle.” Eliza said. “Eh, Robin and Alex are the fighters. Tell them that.” Eliza smiled. “You’re all good fighters. I meant you’re a good person.” “Tom’s the one that gives to the needy. Just a week ago he relieved a village with good and clothes, and paid for it all with money out of his own pocket.” Kyle replied. “That’s not what I mean. You would do anything, anything for any one of those guys.” “They’re all I’ve got.” “You always put them before yourself. I was there when you raided that Covenant base. An alien was about to take Alex’s head off and you dove in front of him. Luckily for you, the alien just missed you. Alex never even saw because he was too busy fighting. And I’m willing to bet you never told him because you’re humble about it.” Kyle didn’t answer. Eliza stopped. “What?” Kyle asked. Eliza put her arms around his neck, pushed him against the wall, and kissed him. And he kissed her back. They kissed for what seemed like hours, until Robin interrupted. “Robin here. Supply ship is ready to go. What’s that noise?” Kyle and Eliza let go of each other. Kyle cleared his throat. “Nothing, Robin. We’re on our way. Kyle out.” Kyle and Eliza kissed again. “My life means nothing to me if I can’t spend every moment of it with you.” Eliza said dreamily. “So that’s the… complicated thing?” “Oh yeah. Yeah, that was it. Kyle, you can’t tell the guys.” “But…” “Not yet I mean. We’re in the middle of an important mission, they need to stay focused. I’ll let them know when the time is right.” “All right.” Kyle replied. “Hey, Kyle. Is it true that you sleep with a blanket Tom made you?” “Where did you hear that?” he asked. “Oh, a little birdie told me.” “Well, yes, I do. Don’t mess with my blankie.” They mounted their speeder bikes and set off for the hangar.

Kyle and Eliza finally arrived at the hangar. Immediately Artie asked “why didn’t you tell us “Stinger” was an Autobot?” “A little surprise is nice.” She replied. “He’ll be this supply ship’s escort. He should definitely fool the Covenant forces.” “Everybody on board.” John ordered. The team boarded the transport. Robin pulled Kyle aside. “Yeah?” Kyle asked. “What was that noise I heard?” “What noise?” “Hmm, it sounded like this.” Robin mimicked kissing someone obnoxiously. Kyle stared at him blankly. “You’re not supposed to know yet.” He said. “Aww, my wittle baby’s growing up!” Robin pinched Kyle’s cheeks. “Robin…” “Well, congrats. Told you there was someone for everyone. And see? You’re likeable.” Kyle didn’t answer, because he knew Robin was right. Robin smiled and patted him on the back. “Come on, it’s almost launch time.” Kyle and Robin returned to the bridge. “All right, Tyler.” Eliza said. “Let’s go.” Tyler started up the engines and flew out of the hangar. The team saw Stinger transform out of the port window.

Tyler made the approach steady. Stinger followed closely on their wing. The Iron Fist was moving out of the planetary shadow, revealing how big it was. As they neared the ship, John noticed the turbolasers had been pointed at their cargo vessel. “Don’t worry” said Tom, “they’re probably just taking precautions. Obviously they’ll be suspicious if their comms are down.” Eliza grabbed Kyle’s hand. Robin, standing behind them, squeezed both of their hands, forcing them to let go. Kyle looked at Robin, and Robin pointed at Artie, who was looking around. “Thanks”, Kyle whispered.

Their ship got closer and closer to the Iron Fist. Alex let out a sigh of relief. They were docking. A Covenant trooper approached the ship as it landed. He opened a small hatch and scanned it. “That’s what that code was for.” Said Eliza. Artie and Alex smiled. “All right, he’s leaving. Go now!” yelled Tom. “You too, Tyler.” Tyler grabbed his lightsaber and opened the ramp. Artie stuck his head outside, peered around and said “okay.” The team quickly exited the ship. Naturally, there was a locked door with a console next to it. “I’ll handle this” Tyler said, and quickly opened the door. The hallway was clear. “I need a console” said Tyler. Eliza placed a lock breaker on a door nearby. Alex stood ready with a grenade in hand. The doors opened and Alex threw his grenade. John went in first, shot two alien, then Artie, who killed another. Tyler took a seat behind a console. “Can you set up your techy stuff?” Kyle asked. “Yeah” responded Tyler. He pulled a few things out of his pocket and plugged them into the console. “OK, General Crawford is 3 hallways down. I’ll stay here in case you need a door opened.” “Robin, stay here and back Tyler up.” Eliza ordered. Robin groaned, but did as he was told.

League of Extraordinary Young Gentlemen Empty
PostSubject: Re: League of Extraordinary Young Gentlemen   League of Extraordinary Young Gentlemen Icon_minitimeMon Dec 01, 2008 12:41 pm

The rest of the team set out for the General’s cell. They made it down the first hallway undetected. John noticed a guard around the corner. “Keep it quiet.” Tom whispered. “I’ll take this one” Kyle answered. He readied a toxic dart. He quickly went around the corner and fired. “It’s clear” he said. They moved quickly down the hallway. “Turn left here” said Tyler. They followed his directions too quickly, and forgot to check for hostiles. 2 guards started firing at them. Artie and John instinctively pulled out their rifles and killed them, one of their heads exploded all over the wall. Kyle was hit in the arm by the blaster fire. “You all right?” asked Tom. “For the moment, yes” he replied. “Cell 1138” Tyler said. Kyle looked up at the cell labels. “I can’t read this crap, Tyler.” “Oh sorry. 3 cells down.” They began walking towards the General’s cell, when someone yelled from another. “Hey! In here!” John deactivated the shield. “Thanks. I’m David. This is Mike. We’re troopers of the 183rd.” Tom greeted them “Hi David, Mike.” “We need our weapons. They’re in that storage locker there.” David said. John went to get the General, while Alex cracked the lock. He took out an assault rifle, which Mike took. David took out a grenade launcher. Next a rocket launcher, which he strapped to his back. He took some grenades, and handed a few to Mike. “Thanks.” David started to close the locker. “Oh yeah!” he shouted, opened the locker again, and took out a wrist flamethrower. “How about a pistol?” asked Kyle. “Why shoot when you can demolish?” responded David, and he smiled.

“Guys… John said. The team rushed over to him. The told Tyler to deactivate the shields. “No…” Eliza said. There was the General, on the floor and bloody. Tom went over to check on him. “Dead” he said grimly. “Wait, this isn’t the General.” Eliza came over to look. “It’s the other passenger from the crash. Figures.” “Why would they leave him here? And why switch the uniforms? They had to know we were coming” Kyle said. An alarm blazed, confirming this. “Time to go!” yelled Artie. “Tyler! How do we get outta here?!” asked John. “There’s another hangar to your right. Find something there. As for the General, logs indicate he was moved to a facility on the ground. I’m downloading the coordinates.” “Get down here, now!” Tom ordered. “On our way,” responded Robin. As they ran towards the hallway, they were ambushed by 5 aliens. They quickly killed them, and ran for the hangar. They entered the hangar, and heard a horde of aliens outside the door. “David” Kyle said. “Could you close the door?” David smiled, and fired his rocket launcher at the door. Flames and debris engulfed the doorway. Kyle patted him on the back.
There were a few Covenant fighters, and a captured freighter. They entered the freighter and Alex started the engines up. Tyler and Robin came moments later. Alex said “Stinger! We need an escort.” Stinger waited outside the hangar. Alex took the ship off as quickly as he could. “Why aren’t they firing at us?” Artie wondered. Tyler smiled. “What?” asked Kyle. “I couldn’t access the main ship controls; I would have needed a command password. But… I could access how much fuel went to the engines.” Everybody rushed to the window, to see the Iron Fist plummeting towards the ocean. Tyler smiled and said “you’re welcome for the distraction.” “Wait” said Alex worriedly. “We’re losing power to the engines.” “I’ll get back there. I’m an engineer.” Mike said. Tyler followed him. “Let me see your arm, Kyle.” Tom said. Kyle rolled up his sleeve, and Tom carefully treated his injury. “aaaah, that stings.” “Just hold still” Said Tom. “There. Good as new.” Thanks, Tom.” Replied Kyle, rolling his sleeve back down. Mike screamed “shut the engines off!” and Alex deactivated them. There was clanking and banging, a squeaky noise, and then Tyler and Mike came back to the cockpit, splattered with oil. “Now try it.” Tyler said. Alex started them up, and they began humming. Tom highfived both of them.

After dropping off David and Mike at the nearest base, Alex returned the team to their headquarters. “General Crawford is deep inside the Covenant base East of here” said Tyler. “It’s heavily fortified. It won’t be a routine drop off and infiltrate.” “I’ve got an idea” interrupted Eliza. Artie rolled his eyes. “All of us can use a vehicle to assault the base. You have Juggernauts, gunships, what else?” “Plenty more” John answered.
After a brief inventory, Eliza assigned each team member a vehicle. Tyler and Alex would pilot separate gunships. Kyle, Robin, and Tom would drive Juggernauts. John would bring an AT-TE, which Artie would drop off, then return with a Scorpion tank. Eliza would pilot a TIE bomber. The assault would take place that night. The team prepared for the attack, loading up their weapons and stocking grenades.

At the Covenant base, two guards patrolled the wall. One of them noticed a shooting star. “Make a wish” one said jokingly. They continued to stare at it. “Wait. Why is it getting bigger?” “Wh-“the energy bomb split the wall wide open. Alarms blazed as Covenant forces scrambled. Kyle and Robin drove the Juggernauts up the main entrance and decimated the enemy turrets. Tom bombarded the back entrance. Artie brought John’s AT-TE into the battle. Immediately he fired on the Covenant communications station. Tyler and Alex were circling the base, spraying the barracks with laser fire.

A large platform came out of the ground. On it was a huge android. It was huge. As it was rising it activated and immediately fired on Kyle’s Juggernaut. Kyle fired back, but realizing his armor wasn’t going to hold, he activated the shields and jumped out. John fired on the droid’s arm, breaking it off. Tyler and Alex began firing on it from behind. The angry droid swatted at them, knocking Alex’s wing off and sending him crashing into a hill. “Alex, come in.” Kyle said. “Alex.” No response. “I’m here, Kyle. Few scrapes but I’m OK. I’ll have Tom pick me up.” “OK, Alex. Good luck.”

Artie came up from behind in his Scorpion, firing a huge blast from the tank’s main cannon. The shot hit the droid directly in the chest. Its armor glowing from the blast, he fired on the tank. Artie fired two more blasts. Both hit the droid. The monster droid stopped firing, stood still for a few seconds, and then fell over. The impact knocked Kyle to the ground.

Kyle went over to inspect the broken droid. He walked next to it, and wondered to himself “how did they build this?” Tom moved in, breaking down a wall with his Juggernaut. Kyle continued to inspect the broken robot. It sparked all over. Kyle was punched from behind and fell over. He stood up to see a yellow-suited Covenant brute looking down at him. Kyle reached for his pistol, but the brute knocked his hand away. It jumped on him, and he flipped it onto the ground. The brute pulled Kyle’s ankle, making him fall face-down. The alien picked him up by the throat. It screamed into his face, covering Kyle’s face in orange saliva. Kyle screamed back, as loud as he could, and slashed the brute with his wrist blades. The alien screamed, and fell to the ground. Kyle wiped his face off and headed for the detention center. Robin dismounted from his Juggernaut and Eliza joined up with Kyle and Robin.

Robin kicked the door down. “Hello?” said Eliza. “In here, Eliza.” Someone answered. The three hurried over to where the voice came from. The General was sitting in his cell. Robin, Kyle, and Eliza forced the door open. A gun appeared behind the General’s head. They all stopped. The brute was sitting behind General Crawford. Only his head was visible. “Drop your weapons.” “How do we know you won’t just kill him anyway?” Robin demanded. “Drop them!” he screamed and pushed the gun against the General’s head. The three began disarming, placing their weapons on the ground. Kyle took out his pistol from behind his back, and in a split second, the brute’s head exploded over the cell. Eliza let out a sigh of relief. “Nice shot.” “I knew that quick shot Alex taught me would come in handy.” He smiled at her, and she smiled back. “Thanks for saving me, said General Crawford. “It wasn’t just us” Robin said. He lead the General outside to meet the rest of the team.

They returned to their base. General Crawford told them that he “would be happy to give them a break in this sector.” Eliza requested to stay with the guys for a little while, and the General agreed.

The next day, they had a pool party to celebrate what they had done. Alex cannonballed in. Kyle was up against the wall of the pool, eating a slice of pizza. Eliza came in, and swam towards him. She got next to him and said “Gentlemen, may I have your attention.” Everyone was quiet. “There is something very important that I think you should know. This area is safe now, thanks to you guys.” The boys applauded and highfived each other. “But, there is one other thing.” It was quiet again. She paused, then quickly turned around and kissed Kyle. Kyle kissed her back. Some of the team shouted “Whoooooo!” Others clapped. Robin smiled and nodded his head. After the two let go of each other, the team congratulated them, and figured out that that was the “complicated” thing she had mentioned. Eliza explained where she had seen the team before, and how she had had a crush on Kyle for so long.

After the party, Eliza took Kyle’s hand and led him down the beach. “Come on, boyfriend.” They were still in their bathing suits. The sun was setting over the water, dying the whole sky a deep red color. For a while, they walked, hand in hand, smiling at each other. Then Eliza sat down in the sand and Kyle sat down next to her. They laid there for a bit, watching the sunset. Kyle grabbed Eliza’s hand. Eliza looked at him. “You have really amazing eyes. Did you know that, Kyle?” “Yep” he replied. “Pure green. I’ve never seen anyone with purrrrrrrr…” he stopped, and realized that all this time Eliza had had green eyes. They gazed into each other’s eyes for a little while, and then Eliza said “I think we’ve both been waiting long enough, so let’s just kiss.” Kyle smiled. “I love you, Eliza.” “I love you too.” They kissed. And this time, they really did kiss for hours.

The End
